DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR DIETICIAN
She/he is responsible for
1. Receive diet article and other articles from the suppliers as per the indent received from the Ward and the Kitchen Supervisor will maintain the accounts
2. Daily receipt and issue is to be attested by the Nursing Superintendent Gr-I and she is wholly responsible for proper maintenance of account and in overall supervision of kitchen work and distribution of food to patients
3. Cooked food samples is to be certified by the Resident Medical officer everyday as is being done
4. Daily indent of diet tickets is to be prepared by the case workers in the office and should be signed by the Senior Dietician/Dietician everyday and to be sent to kitchen for further needful. In the absence of the Senior Dietician/Dietician, Administrative Officer will sign the Indent
5. The case workers while preparing bills relating to kitchen should get stock certificate duly recorded on the bill by the Nursing Superintendent Gr-I I/c of Kitchen. Before passing he should verify the same with reference to daily indent and diet roll should record the same on the bill duly attested by the internal auditor
6. The Medical Superintendent I/c of kitchen will visit kitchen and supervise at least twice a day.
KITCHEN SUPERVISOR
She/he is responsible for
1. Jointly or severally for arrangements and maintenance of cleanliness in the kitchen utensils including the over etc,.Supervise the cleaning of rice, dhal etc,. ( Broken rice, husks, stones ,paddy, block soil works etc,)before putting the same for cooking
2. Vegetables received from the supplier should be examined cleansed and should given for cutting and put for preparation
3. While preparing any food articles they should see that cleanliness is maintained. No pilferage, adulteration of diet articles are done
4. No outsiders should be allowed during the working hours in the kitchen
5. Accompany the diet distributors while distributing the diet in the wards and see that all the patients have received the cooked food as per the duty allotted to them
6. No room should be given for non co-operation between themselves while discharging their duties
7. Any other work assigned to them pertaining to the Kitchen preparation and distribution of food articles of the hospital.
DIET SERVER
1. Assist and maintenance of cleanliness in the Kitchen utensils including the oven etc,.
2. Assist for cleaning of rice, dhal etc., and should see that stones and other materials are separated from the rice, dhal etc,. (Broken rice, husks, stones, paddy, block soils works etc,.) before putting the same for cooking
3. Asst for cutting Vegetables received, cleaned and put for preparation
4. While preparing any food articles they should see that cleanliness is maintained. No pilferage, adulteration of diet articles are done

MALE SERVER

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/LECTURER IN MICROBIOLOGY
1. He shall ensure smooth and successful completion of the assigned official work entrusted to him by the Head of the Department both regarding the teaching work as well as patient care
2. He should be available in the hospital premises during duty hours and as assigned by HOD
3. He shall consult his seniors whenever he feels necessary in the interest of the patient
4. Take part in teaching programs of the department
5. Helping the post-graduates in preparation of Dissertation and Seminar/Journal Club as assigned by HOD

RESIDENT SUREON
1. The working hours of the Resident Surgeons shall de on duty at the Institute during the 24 hours (9.00 am to 9.00 am). While on duty, he shall not leave the premises Under any circumstances.
2. The Resident Surgeon shall make preliminary rounds as soon as he arrives the hospital between 00 am and 9.00 am along with the Nursing Superintendent Gr-IIs And shall write detailed notes on the treatment given to the patients and to appraise.
3. The Head of the Department Unit of what all he has done and of day-to-day status.
4. Of the patients in their respective units and the investigation reports received on each Patient
5. The resident surgeon shall be at the bedside of critically ill patients in turn and Personally supervise all treatment and contact the Head of the Dept/Unit or the asst.
6. Head of the Unit, as the case may be, if he feels that he needs to consult and obtain advice on the treatment to be given to seriously ill patients.
7. The Resident surgeon shall also complete all entries in the case sheet wherever indicated during the period between 8.00 am and 9.00 am
8. The Resident Surgeons shall work under the head of the Department/Unit concerned between 00 am and 4.00 pm
9. The Resident Surgeons shall utilize the period of between 00 pm and 5.00 pm for review of their patient’s status and update the case sheet filing
10. The Resident Surgeons shall also be responsible to see that the case sheets are Maintained satisfactorily by the staff nurse concerned such as sequence of the sheet in the case record, nurse’s notes doctors orders, etc,.
11. The Resident Surgeons shall see that drugs and injections prescribed/ordered are Issued by the staff nurse and that the patient gets these by verifying the same during his rounds in the morning between 8.00 am to 9.00 am and 00 pm to 5.00 pm
12. The resident Surgeons shall meet the officers in the Laboratories/ diagnostic department and work as liason personnel between their respective Departments/Units and the Diagnostic departments.
ASST. SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICER
1. Counseling for providing psycho-social support with the help of guiding principles to weekly parents meeting
2. Ward rounds from 9.00 am to 10 am along with the doctors and to listen to their grievances and to assist them according to the instructions of the doctors
3. To help the patients to complete all investigations procedures
4. To extend guidance to out-patients
5. To assist for procuring the drugs from KCDF
6. To assist for poor patients to get concessions from KCMMR Fund
7. To maintain the accounts of KCMMR funds, Mayor fund, Governor’s fund and to arrange for distribution of funds to concerned patients
8. To assist for getting railway pass to avail treatment
9. To arrange to procure blood requirements to the patients
10. To prepare estimation letters to send to CM/PM and other voluntary organizations with the help of doctors
STAFF NURSE
1. She shall be responsible to perform duties of the concerned out-patient department and should posses knowledge of all duties
2. She should be punctual in their duties and report ½ an hour early to the department should leave the department only after closing
3. She should be kind and soft spoken and have patients while conversing with patients/subordinates
4. She should assist and help in various teaching and hospital duties irrespective of holidays
5. She should be responsible for overall cleanliness and hygiene of the departments and undertake regular rounds of the department and labs OT etc
6. She should be responsible for supervision of Linen and proper sterilization and proper disposal of waste
7. She should ensure that proper sterilization and aseptic techniques are followed assist staff members, at chain side, while treating the patient by providing proper instruments, materials etc,.
8. She shall assist the teaching staff i.e., Lecturers and Asst. Professor
9. She shall maintain the statistics and accounts in the department
10. She shall take stock of the material and instrument, timely maintenance and supply to the students and staff while working
11. She shall keeping stock of various medicines, emergency drugs in the departments and to maintain it
12. She shall counsel the patients
13. As telephone bills will be coming once in two months, all the regular operators are trained to certify the bills with proper verification. In case, the telephone supervisor is on leave, next operator according to their seniority has to certify the same bills and forward it to the office at an early date avoid dely.
14. Night operator must enter the important message in the Message Book with time and other details.
15. Now -a-days power cut has become regular feature at night times. Even generator starts immediately, EPABX takes little more to pick up the lines. Hence, the time to time power cut, voltage drop, etc, timings should be entered by the Operator on duty (to avoid public complaints).
16. Before the operator on duty relieved by the next to operator, it is his duty to inform any message including faculty extensions, booking of trunk calls/phonograms etc, before he leaves exchange.
17. Daily fault complaints with docket number should be clearly entered in the book with details of fault.
18. Whatever may be amount of General Holidays in a month, each operator is entitled for only 4 OFFs. To avail one OFF, they must work 6 days according to their turn, and can avail OFF/ on 7th day of the week.
19. In case of any technical fault or other reasons, telecommunication exchange unit has to be closed during the night time and before putting Off the exchange intimation must be give to Nursing Superintendent Gr-I/Duty/ Resident Medical Officer / Head of the Maintenance Department and if need to be to Medical Superintendent / Director.
20. Some of the Telephone Operators have been accommodated in Staff Quarters with the intension that their services could be obtained as and when required by the Institute. Hence, the event of any exigency the Operators residing in staff quarters shall volunteer to work immediately.

22. To attend the office at 7.30 am in the morning and if required sweeping and swabbing work of outside the Telephone Exchange.
23. To attend to sweeping, swabbing and dusting of the office twice a day.

RESIDENT SURGEON
1. The working hours of the Resident Surgeons shall be on duty at the Institute during the 24 hours (9.00 am to 9.00 am). While on duty, he shall not leave the premises under any circumstances.
2. The Resident Surgeon shall make preliminary rounds as soon as he arrives at the Hospital between 8.00 am and 9.00 am along with the Nursing Superintendent Gr-IIs and shall write detailed notes on the treatment given to the patients and to appraise the Head of the Department Unit of what all he has done and of the day-to-day status of the patient in their respective units and the investigation reports received on each patient.
3. The Resident Surgeon shall be at the bedside of critically ill patients in turn and personally supervise all treatment and contact the Head of the Dept/Unit or the Asst. to the Head of the Unit, as the case may be, if he feels that he needs to consult and obtain advice on the treatment to be given to seriously ill patients.
4. The Resident Surgeon shall also complete all entries in the case sheet wherever indicated during he period between 8.00 am and 9.00 am
5. The Resident Surgeons shall utilize the period of between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm for review of their patient’s status and update the case sheet filing
6. The Resident Surgeons shall also be responsible to see that the case sheets are maintained satisfactorily by the staff nurse concerned such as sequence of the sheets in the case record, nurse’s notes doctors orders, etc,.
7. The Resident Surgeons shall see that drugs and injections prescribed/ordered are issued by the staff nurse and that the patient really gets these by verifying the same during his rounds in the morning between 8.00 am to 9.00 am and 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm
8. The Resident Surgeons shall meet the officers in the Laboratories/diagnostic department and work as liaison personnel between their respective Departments/Units and the Diagnostic departments.

1. Counseling for providing psycho-social support with the help of guiding principle to weekly parents meeting
2. Ward rounds from 9.00 am to 10 am along with the doctors and to listen to their grievances and to assist them according to the instructions of the doctors
